Angkor area is located close to Siem Reap, in Western Cambodia. The main temple, Angkor Wat, is the biggest religious building in the world.

This is a front view of the inner palace and one of the flower-covered pools that surround it.

Unfortunately, I won´t be able to enjoy this :(

Weren´t those areas also destroyed by a recent war? Or is it just my lack of culture that makes me mix Cambodia with Vietnam?

Angkor Wat temples are mostly in ruins, but it's more due to the destructive force of nature than to any war. They have always been quite well preserved by all the contendants engaged in any of the past wars.

Cambodia suffered a very violent 30-year-long civil war, that ended last decade. Nowadays, it is the most heavily mined country in the world, and a significant percentage of the population is handicapped due to those devices that don't respect any truce.

That was one of the sad parts of the trip, compensated with many other things, though.
