Floating Villages

Floating Villages

It's indescriptible what one feels when travelling through these floating villages in the manglar (flooded jungle) and all the children around want to greet you.

Indeed, one of the best experiences in my life, the kind that you usually watch in National Geographic but it's hard to believe it's real.

The name "Battanbang" has suddenly reminded me of the movie "Apocalypse Now" :-/
However, this looks much more colourful...

It is not exactly the same place as in that movie, but you´re not so mislead...

In "Apocalypse Now", Martin Sheen starts his Odyssey in Vietnam, but the place where he meets Marlon Brando (the mad veteran) at the end of the movie is already somewhere in eastern Cambodia.

Nowadays, Battanbang is an old French colonial city, second biggest in the country after the capital.
